I create things and make things better. Thats and interesting title huh? Well thats what I do. I head Powered By Geek, I am the main idea gal and I make things pretty.

Sound like a jack of all trades? Actually its not.. it is sort of a progression. I started my career as a professional web master, that is what we used to call them back in 1996, and have spent most of my life making web apps. Being that I have been making web apps since the dawn of the mainstream internet, we were less worried about art back then and more worried about performance, useability and scalability. As the internet progressed in technology and I added art, illustration, javascript and flash (or sexification as I like to call it) to my resume, I always have kept in touch with that part of my past that reminds me to build things that are intuitive, accessible and simple… to put it simply, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.

Fortunately with modern design, I don’t think you need to compromise. Everything I design takes into account for sex appeal, intuitiveness for a new user and ease of use for users who need to use it every day.

Take this concept and expand it to more then just design but creating things in general. I find myself constantly wanting to build tools to make my life simpler, easier and more beautiful. At any given time I probably have 20 or so apps I would love to build or improve on. I am intimate with, for the lack of a better term, web 2.0 and social media and have embraced it not only professionally but also personally. I practice what I preach and because of that I stay in touch with what the latest trends, not only in marketing and design but also in tech in general.

I am not cutting or bleeding edge… I am at where the slice is premeditated.
